Whats Happening Now at Mountain Whitewater

As of January 15, 2008 the Cache la Poudre River Basin contains over 100% of its average snow pack.  This means we are expecting another great season with high water in June.  We will start running trips in mid May and will run through the end of August.  Call now to book your next Colorado adventure.

We are now offering guided Inflatable Kayak Trips

Last year we tested the water with a few guided IK trips and they were great.  We will now be offering guided IK trips for up to 12 people on a regular basis.  If you are looking for a great whitewater adventure, but want a little more control over the boat, these trips are for you!

The winter of 2007/2008 has been an action packed off-season for some of Mountain Whitewater Descents employees.  Twelve of MWD's current and past employees went on the trip of a lifetime, The Grand Canyon, in November 2007.  The crew spent 27 days in the beautiful Grand Canyon, rowing or paddling all of its 297 miles all the way to Lake Mead.  It was a truly unforgettable experience for everyone.

Here are the Top 10 Reasons to go to the Grand Canyon according to Ben Costello (he is the river manger for MWD if you don't know him):

10. To figuring out those little things that you want to do for the next trip, because one Grand Canyon is trip is never enough.

9.  To test out a bunch of new dessert recipes in your new Dutch Ovens.

8.  To finding out how wonderful a drysuit is by flipping my raft, full or gear, for the first time.

7.  To sleeping under the stars for an entire month, almost.

6.  To get that really cool rafting photo to give to your friends and parents as a gift.

5.  To create experiences that could never be duplicated, with some of your best friends, in a truly unique and magical place.

4.  To run some of the most fun and exhilarating whitewater in the country.

3.  To get the chance to cook and enjoy a full Thanksgiving feast on the side of the Colorado River, 24lb. turkey and all!

2.  To explore all of the extraordinarily beautiful side canyon hikes.

1.  To recharge your batteries and cleanse your sole.  The Grand Canyon provides a place of solitude and wonder that can be found in few other places in this world.
