Mountain Whitewater Descents offers guided Inflatable Kayak trips on Colorado’s only Wild and Scenic river! Inflatable Kayaks (also known as ‘Duckies’) are perfect for the adventure seeker in all of us. Duckies offer more independence to the paddler in a smaller boat that makes every wave seem much bigger! Inflatable Kayaks offer the sensation of kayaking but with better stability for the beginner to intermediate user.

Guided Ducky trips will have a minimum of one trained, professional guide per every 6 guests with a maximum of 12 guests per trip. Guided Ducky trips are available between July 1st and August 15th. Guests taking a guided Inflatable Kayak tour must be in good physical shape and be ready to swim.

Filter Plant Float

Fun class II and III rapids with great canyon scenery!!! Perfect for beginners, teens and families.

Sun and fun on the lower section of the Cache la Poudre River. Join our professional guides for a half-day of paddling in your own one or two person Inflatable Kayak. This trip offers guests the chance to learn to paddle on the easier section of the river where they can get a feel for the boat. Just follow your guide. The Filter Plant Float is 2 1/2 miles long and can sometimes be done twice on a half-day trip.

Advanced Ducky Trips

Ducky Splash Trip

Step it up for an unforgettable experience!!! Run the Bridges Section of the Cache la Poudre River in a Ducky. These class II, III and IV rapids are step above the Filter Plant trip. These trips are much longer and more physically demanding, but the reward is tons of big waves, challenging rapids and a great adrenaline rush!

Minimum Age: 18 years old

Ducky Full Day Trip

This is the ultimate Ducky adventure!!! The Plunge trip offers all the rapids of the Splash trip, plus an extra four miles of whitewater, including four more class IV rapids and a delicious deli-style, buffet lunch. Lunch includes deli meats and cheese, lots of veggies, homemade salads and fresh baked cookies. Where else can you find an adventure this great? This trip offers truly world-class whitewater and fantastic canyon scenery. Take our word for it, you will need the extra energy from the riverbank lunch to charge through this full day of paddling.
